Elements in a diagram carry icons. There are standard icons (標準アイコン), available from the start, and custom icons (カスタムアイコン), which you upload. Open both from Icons (アイコン) in the sidebar.
How your AI uses icons
- Every element that doesn’t contain other elements has an icon. A group (a frame around elements) can have an icon next to its heading.
- Your AI searches icons by English name and picks one that fits the element. Your custom icons are included in the search.
- Each icon has a name for AI. Standard icons are named
i:(icon set):(name)and custom iconsu:(icon set):(name)(for example,i:logos:postgresql).
To have your AI use a particular icon, choose Copy name for AI (AI 用の名前をコピー) on the icon and include the name in your request.
Use i:logos:postgresql for the databaseStandard icons
Search under Icons (アイコン) → Standard icons (標準アイコン).
- Search by English name (for example database, server, user, cloud, kubernetes). The search runs when you stop typing.
- Filter by All (すべて), Color (カラー), or Monochrome (モノクロ).
- Color: Icons with their own colors, such as logos
- Monochrome: Icons that take the diagram’s text color
- Filter by icon set. This helps keep icons consistent within a diagram.
- Scroll down to load more results. If there are too many, add words to narrow the search.
Choose an icon to see it larger. From there you can:
- Copy name for AI (AI 用の名前をコピー)
- Download SVG (SVG をダウンロード)
Custom icons
Upload images that aren’t among the standard icons, such as your company’s service logos, as custom icons, and your AI can use them in diagrams. Custom icons work in all of your documents.
Upload
- Open Icons (アイコン) → Custom icons (カスタムアイコン) and choose Upload icons (アイコンをアップロード).
- Under Icon set (アイコンセット), choose where the icons go. To make a new set, choose Create a new icon set (新しいアイコンセットを作る) and enter a name.
- Drop files or click to choose them. You can choose several files at once.
- Choose Upload (アップロード).
For each file, you see either the name it was saved under, or why it wasn’t saved and how to fix it.

The icon name is made from the file name: the extension is removed, letters are lowercased, and runs of anything other than letters and digits become a hyphen. For example, My Logo.svg becomes my-logo. A file name without any letters or digits can’t produce a name, so rename the file with letters and digits before uploading.
About SVG
To display safely, SVG files are saved with only the parts that draw shapes.
- Scripts, animations, images inside the SVG, and references to external files are removed.
- SVG files with DOCTYPE or ENTITY declarations can’t be uploaded.
- A viewBox, or both width and height, is required.
- An SVG with nothing left to draw after cleanup can’t be uploaded. Use SVG drawn with paths and shapes.
- Text in an SVG shows in the browser but disappears when exported to PNG. Convert text to paths before uploading.
Manage
Open an icon set to see its icons. Each icon shows its format and size, and how many diagrams use it (for example “used in 2 diagrams,” or unused).
- From an icon’s “…” menu: Copy name for AI (AI 用の名前をコピー) and Delete (削除).
- From an icon set’s “…” menu in the set list, delete the whole set along with its icons.
You can also give an image to your AI and have it upload the image as a custom icon.
